Any particular reason O-grand poobah and procurator of obscure, trollish declarations virgin in both fact and support?

Cata, can we start up a GURPS campaign? Perhaps based on something everyone understands? Star Trek, Stargate...? Vampire...?

After IB is finished and Starship Calamity starts up, possibly...

First off, I do know what I'm talking about. Years of DnD experience will do that for you.
Secondly, I do have support for what I say. I don't go around saying whatever because I want to.
Thirdly, I word them rather nicely, I think. They're not trollish.
Fourthly, I just don't like it. It doesn't appeal to me, having to 'buy' your abilities. 'Buy' Strength, 'buy' Dexterity, 'buy' Intelligence. You can't buy those things in real life.
And finally, don't think you can out-sarcasm me. Anyone who knows me has realized that I am the king of sarcasm.

First of all, I've found that it doesn't matter what system you play, it's who you play it with. I've probably learned more about the game over the past year of helping to build a campaign setting, of playing what is essentially a plot NPC and dealing with some of the absolutely devious rules lawyers, meta-gamers and hardcore RPers I have ever met than your years and years of DnD experience. (Your previous posts seem to only reinforce that point far too much for the continued health of your own argument.)

I knew this would bite you in the ass one day;

I read Jane Eyre, which is not by Jane Austen, but all those 19th century freaks all wrote the same way.

I hate point buy with a passion.

No justifications, no qualifiers, but certainly no lack of very strong words. A thirteen year old me could have hardly done better without adding swearwords in foreign languages.

Certainly you can. Don't tell me you've never studied, or exercised, or practiced dance routines. Those things make you stronger, faster, smarter, more limber. Point-buy lets you decide how your character has spent his life up until now. Besides, if anything, Role-Playing Games are about who you WANT to be, not who the dice tell you you are. If you WANT to be a useless wretch of a mage with only 12 Int because your rolls were shitty, then Zu befeldt, but how many people what that?

Well it's pretty damn obvious by this point.

And finally, don't think you can out-sarcasm me. Anyone who knows me has realized that I am the king of sarcasm.

I'm sorry, the only sarcasm I detected at all in that particular sentence was the bit where you talked about being good at sarcasm.

There is only so much you can learn about a game. I highly doubt that you have learned more in one year than I have in nine years of DnD experience, though only 4 of those were semihardcore. I just don't have the time to work with all these things. Of course, my parents do have a set time for me on the computer, and a set bedtime, so I don't get to stay up all night on my lappy working on such things.

And I wasn't being sarcastic then.
And it is much harder to be sarcastic over the internet.

It's easy being sarcastic on the internet, you only need to choose words, you don't need to do anything to colour your speech. As long as you set up context easily, sarcasm is dead easy.

I also see that you've learned so much over the last 9 years that you never deign to show it in any of your posts. Well done, I mean even Jack Thompson and Lawrence Cooper needed to be completely ignorant to actually act like they were completely ignorant. I'll treat your arguments the same way I treat everyone else's, like "a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." until there's proof otherwise.

I would like to point out that this thread is so derailed, it's not even recognizable, and not even in S8.

Both of you take this elsewhere, please...

True that, 1337 can do that if he wishes. I'd rather just not argue and be infinitely glad that he isn't in OUR party...

Well, then, stop arguing.

And insulting unnecessarily.

Something witty...

You know, the best way to have stopped it would have been to have used that post to discuss the correct topic, rather than to get the last word.

For example: Character Poll: Who is your favourite character?

Final Word: I'll be nicer if you be smarter.

MOVING ON!

Favourite chara?

DUH!

Ithaca's twins!

It's a throwup between Cassius and Caius. Caius because he literally compells the plot to move, Cassius because, well, he's certainly much more likeable. Their flaws are different too, Caius' are purely personal, Cassius' are more political. For example, Caius spends his friends and subordinates like pawns, but it doesn't keep his charisma from garnering him more. Cassius has a temper when pushed, and we've seen hoe that has affected HIS political career.
