Alright, this is a pretty big announcement, so pay attention. The Comm has had dealings with a forum called The Hunter's Realm for quite a while now. They've been on the affiliates list almost as long as the Comm has been on the Zeta network. Some of you may recall that the Hunter's Realm was, like the Comm, an outgrowth of another forum that has since gone under, called FESS. It was began by Dark Huntress, but for a while Chaz Natlo had taken over as Root Administrator before handing the reigns back to DH. Well, the Realm has had it a little hard lately with activity, and did close. As a result of an agreement Chaz and I had made about the same time we were affiliating the boards, should such happen, it would be considered that the Comm absorb HR as a subforum like the Black Steel Fortress of Doom and Midgard Below. After talking with Chaz, whom the agreement was made with, and Huntress, who was the founder and current Root, it was decided that we would go along with that plan. We talked with the other admins over at HR, and they were ok with it. So in light of adding another dedicated RP Board, and particularly one that was once it's own independent forum, I thought it may be better to give these boards that are dedicated to their own universe front billing on the index. That's why the new category "The Cosmos" was added and the BSFoD and MB were moved there. They are now being joined by the Hunter's Realm. This means that The Hunter's Realm will be just as autonomous or dependent as the Black Steel Fortress or Midgard are. I primarily lay trust of running it to the people who know it best, and the staffer in that position is Chaz. As part of joining the two forums under the Comm banner, the skin from HR has been added to the Comm's list of available skins if the HRers wish to use it. It is currently equipped with a Temporary Banner, and I plan on speaking with Christian/LordSesshomaru88 about making an updated one that features the look and feel of the old along with the Comm name and The Hunter's Realm as a slogan. In regards to all the information in the form of topics and posts from the old HR boards, we'll be taking a slow approach to moving these things, that way the Realmers can move what they deem as necessary and they can be the ones doing it, rather than having a bunch of Comm Staffers run over the Realm members and dictating terms that don't need to be dictated. More information can be found in the Hunter's Realm Board itself, courtesy Chaz. In combination with this, we're going to be making a big push for upping our RP Activity come January. With these changes, we'll have three dedicated universe RP Boards visible on the front page, we can't let them slip into inactivity for too long. I'll be the first to admit I've let my own attention slide away, and I believe it's fair to say that when activity started to slip it was in November, when nearly everyone was legitimately busy with IRL ordeals/matters. But I've already spoken with MAge, and she has plans for the Weavers, Cata's always ready to pick up the Freikorps/Tales, and The Hunter's Realm folks will be busy settling into their new home. For nonaligned RPs like Chaz's Super Hero RP, January will be a great time to launch, and I encourage Chaz and those signed up to shoot for such a launch date. If you've never tried your hand at RPing but wanted to, now would be a great time to do so. Or if invite a friend whom you know is an avid RPer. Or if you used to RP quite often but have just fallen out of it, try picking it up again; I guarantee, it's still fun. Questions or Suggestions would be appreciated. |
