Right, this places needs a nice new, proper spriting thread. Join me Rythen, Chaz, and together we can rule the Graphics Depot!
So I figured I might as well start by posting mine. I'll put up the ones being used in the hack as I go along so I don't have to keep file transferring them all over creation, and so I can get general C&C from a broader range as I go. I'll also post miscellaneous whatnots that I mess with from time to time. For starters, I'll post all the Commer Project Hack portraits and frames that I have done so far, since many have only seen the ones outside those in my sig in the demo video, which has terrible quality.

You get CPP if you can guess who each one is without having seen them before.

I also have this, which I worked on because I heard a bunch of people on Fire Emblem Universe whining about how difficult FE9 GBA mugs were to make. Took me about half an hour to complete.

Course I'm disqualified... Anyways, I'd like to point out, for the sake of credit, that a few of those were adapted from existing sprites, The 1337 one being everyones favourite fireman being the most obvious.

As for C&C, the one above Cata freaks me out with the eyes. the one on the right is up a hair too high (and as per our arguments discussions a single pixel makes a world of difference.) I haven't taken a closer look yet, but it looks a bit like a Picasso picture.

Do you think I should bring the left eye down a pixel, or the right eye up a pixel?
(Her PoV)

And yes, thank you, I forgot again.
The obvious thief one is derived from Volke, though to be fair, I did all the work myself, Volke was a model to follow.
Chaz's was adapted from, well, Chaz's version of himself. And the Red-haired bloke was also originally Chaz's work that I tidied up a bit and fixed the colours for.

Left eye down. As much as I think you usually give too much forehead, the amount given by the right eye (her pov) is just about right. And like I said, it looks like the one eye is too high, not that the other is too low. though that may have to do with the way the eyebrows arc.

How's this then?

Much better. I was actually sort of worried I was wrong when I covered up each eye with my mouse, but it looks much less distracting now.

I don't know... There is something nagging me about the hairline where the it meets the forehead... Can't really explain it... Almost like his face is sticking out farther then the hair is.

Hmm... now you've mentioned it, it does look a little unnatural - a bit flat. I was just wondering if deepening some of that patch of shadow above the forehead might make a difference.

Would it be deepening the shadow on the forehead that'd fix it, or perhaps adjusting the shading on the hair as it meets head instead? It seems that if I put more on the skin alone it would worsen the bulging effect that ND described.

It was the shadow in the hair that I was referring to, rather than on the forehead. You have dark outlines around either side of the parting, but the parting area itself is grey all the way down to the hairline, which, to me, doesn't look quite right. If you extend the black outlining up into the parting a little, it'll probably give more of an impression of depth and make the hair seem to rise out from its roots a little more.

I'm not really explaining this very well so I've fiddled about a bit and tried to illustrate what I mean.

The plain grey bit that I've marked in red is where I think the problem is.

I haven't got this right, but hopefully this will show what I meant about extending the black to put shadow in the parting.

(Oh, and don't forget to lower the eye in the mini-mugshot at some point. I noticed it hadn't been done when I enlarged the image to look at the hair.)

(Edited because I've just noticed half a line got deleted and it no longer made sense.)

Actually, I did lower the eye in the chibi, but then moved it back.
It, uh, yeah, it didn't work out at all, sorta like trying to remove some of the overshading about the eyes, that didn't work out so much either.

And if everyone likes Dino's version, we can just use the one she's just posted. I think it works just fine.

Figured I might as well post some of the stuff I've been showing off at FEU as well.

I've also made some angry versions of the generic villagers from FE8 for use during the Prologue of FEEoS, but I'm not ready to post them yet. They're pretty basic anyways.

It was an FE8 Prologue, not an FF8 Prologue. Don't worry, it catches me off guard too. And like I said to you. There's something off in his jaw.
