  This is kind of strange.   Why, what happens after you use it? Does it self-destruct or something?   Well, I suppose having boulders hurled at you would tend to lower one's speed. But what if there are no boulders about? Hang on, is that why you have so many rocks in here?  And many kinds of incompetency, too.  Uh...thanks?  Oh dear.  Well, it's not like I've got anywhere else to go.  Yeah, yeah, whatever.  Just need to fix something here...  There we go. You know, it strikes me as odd that no other trainers have beaten this ridiculously easy gym. It wouldn't surprise me if this is just something Cata made up.  Well so much for that then. *strikes moderator staff o' doubleposting* *ahem* I know you're all probably wondering what's up with the updates, since we didn't have one last week and all. I'm very sorry for the delay. I've just been having some stressful times lately. Last week I had my Governor's School interview, which was a good thing, but still got me stressed out over it, and some other things have come up. Overall things have gotten better but they've also gotten busier and I've just been preoccupied and kind of worn out. Putting a full chapter up does take a good bit of work, especially on those times when Imageshack decides to be stupid, and I just haven't been up to it. I doubt I would have been all that funny anyway. So...no, there wasn't a chapter up last week and I regret to say that there's not going to be one this week or next week either. My family is leaving for our vacation (our sweet, blessed, long-awaited vacation) on Friday and aren't going to be coming back until next Saturday. So the next few days are going to be spent getting ready, and then of course while we're at the beach I won't even have my computer to update it. This is not dead; it's just on a short hiatus right now. I'm still interested in doing it, maybe even trying some new things, and I know lots of people seem to be reading and enjoying it. I've just rather lost my drive at the moment. When we do come back, I will do my best to pick up the pace again. Again, I'm really sorry for the delay. |

Hey guys. *strikes staff o' tripleposting* Yeah...my PC is being bad. I sat down to work on this and discovered that the bloody PC was refusing to even start up. Since the game and all the files are on there, I can't do much without having access to it. And I don't know anything about computers, so I was in no position to do anything about it. Buuut, my dad does. So now that it's the weekend and I can ask him about it without feeling guilty* and I'm going to be gone all day tomorrow, so hopefully he can fix it then. Or sometime. Hell, I suppose we should all be hoping he can fix it at all, otherwise...well. So yeah, I'm sorry that this is even later than I already said it would be....yeah. I suck. Sorry guys. *Yeah, I know this sounds wimpy, but honestly, when he comes home from dealing with the mentally disturbed and his coworkers all day and just sits in his chair in front of the TV with a drink and a laptop...I find it hard to disturb him. Especially since he has that death glare. |

Yes, I'm back! I told you all this wasn't dead. Just...in a coma. But now it's awake. (And depressed, and jumping off a building?...hope not.) *ahem* Anyway, extended metaphors aside, yes, I'm back, finally got the computer fixed. It turns out there was some odd problem with the battery that was fixed in about five minutes. Yeah, anticlimax there. It seems the nature of the problem means it may go down again, but since now the problem is understood, hopefully it won't go down for that long again. Who knows, I may even finish this. So, here you are, Chapter Nine! I apologize for the delay. I also apologize because this is a somewhat long chapter so I likely won't get it all up tonight, since I'm trying to break my habit of staying up ridiculously late. But, at least, it is here at last. ---------------------------------------------- Chapter Nine: Running The Gauntlet ----------------------------------------------  *sings * I have a gym badge, I have a gym badge, I have a gym badge! So...how do I get there? Hm, let me check the map...looks like I have to go through Mt. Moon. Because...we don't have roads. Why don't we have roads? Does no one pay taxes in this country? What happened to the government?    Okay, well, before I set out, need to make a quick stop at the PokeCenter. Joan's a little bruised.  Alright, done that. Now...PokeMart. Need a few supplies. It's gonna be a long trip to the next city if I'm reading this map right. Though, if Cerulean City is anything like Pewter City, I'm guessing its status as a city will be questionable.       Man, I'm poor.  Yes. A bag of chips.
