A - It's not like their government has the infrastructure to handle something like this (even ours had trouble with something like Hurricane Katrina), and B - throwing money at a problem is only going to do so much. So yeah, I'd still say it's a shitty thing to happen to Haiti. I'm not saying don't help, but realize that no matter what you do, things probably aren't going to change that much there without some serious internal changes. |
