I've been having this RP idea run around in my head. Pretty much, it'd take place in an Alternate Universe (probably a planet of my own creation, not space). Anyways, a major part of our plot that we kinda need an opinion on, before we get the nitty gritty worked out.

Mechas. Considering we're kinda taking inspiration from Gundam/E7, we'd like to know your opinion. It's totally possible to do it little to no mechas, but considering we're thinking the outlining factor being an Arms race, Mechas would be likely. It's really dependent upon your guys want to pilot mechas or not as to how much we use them.

I like the idea...you had me at mechas...

I think there should be a somewhat of a balance between pilots and supporting crew (or portraying one member on the team), that way all angles can be addressed. So, mecha battles will be on the ground and in the sky? It will work, I think it will with everyone but that is just my opinion.

Mecha you say?

I have a pretty well developed character from the LAST mecha RP I participated in, if you wouldn't mind me using him.

Sounds peachy. But yes, a nice balance between the mecha pilot *coughheroescough* and support units (ships, VTOLs--er, aircraft, etc.) would be nice.

You will be one with Mother Russia, da?

I like this idea! I've never done a mecha RP but it sounds fun.

I'd certainly be interested, but I have to admit I'm not heavily into mecha (and have never watched any of the Gundam series). But I agree with Red and CD that there should be a balance - it wouldn't do to have everyone being a mecha pilot - so I'd happily be a member of the support crew.

There will be. We'll need more people to run our ship (pilot, communications, weapons), than we will pilots. But those people wouldn't just be stuck on the ship. Also, I'd assume that the mecha battles would take place where ever, they can. I can see it mainly being in the sky, considering we are on an aircraft.

I wouldn't see why not.

I've never been involved with anything mecha but balance is always nice. Variety allows different people to play different roles. If everyone had the same role, where would the fun be? If I sharpen my knowledge on mecha-based things then perhaps I'll join in. It's worth a shot. :D

I might bite. I'd probably prefer to be background, like a mechanic or something, but if I learn more it should be worth it.

I could donate one of the more beat up Albion class fleet carriers. Sure they may be useless, under-equipped pieces of shite in baseline (no offense to anyone who may be serving aboard one), but they can still easily outgun anything most sci-fi universes can throw up. I'm pretty sure the 2nd Walker Division is phasing one out, I can give you that one if you want as it's already been retrofitted for mecha.

If you're into one-man aircraft, I can also loan some Wark interceptors. They're intended for space combat, though, so I might have to jury-rig some adaptations, and I'm not even sure if it's possible.

On a more bipedal mecha note, I've also got my hands on a small group of mass-produced Hornets; namely, the ones with the atmosphere-capable Mobile ATV-250 engines, so no need to dig through a junkyard or ancient underground passages to find a robot. ;)

I'll probably bring along the Psyco Fairlion, with the Rein Walküre be there as well?

I think now that we've established that there will be mecha, we should probably wait till after the nitty gritty before talk of high powered anti-warship mechas. If I recall, there is supposed to be an arms race.

Considering the heavy fare that Tales of the Infinite Sea is running with, I'd certainly prefer a more lighthearted RP, maybe a slice-of-life mecha academy one.
