Thinking about starting an rp in a steampunk based world, where otherworldly things roam the streets at their own risk, met with quite a bit of hostility from the human population and their government. Lots of suppression, lots of rebellion, and room for secret plots. Anyone interested? |

Nope. I don't mind a bit. Woot! So here's what I've got figured out so far: This world, as I mentioned, has a lot of otherworldly beings in it (winged people, monsters, whatever the heck you can come up with). They're largely a minority though; years of hostility and slaughter dwindled their numbers or something and now they're merely tolerated. The human government has a lot of ridiculous laws geared towards them (would love some help coming up with those). They do have one prominent political figure "on their side" but he's a freaking tyrant who doesn't always back his promises and looks the other way a lot if something otherworldly gets wronged. Basically, he uses his position to get away with some really twisted shit. The characters I have planned, aside from him, are this tyrant's "wife" Kestelle or Kes and her best friend, Reever, who's one of those winged people. Kes isn't exactly human herself, given her heart and probably a lot of her other vitals are mechanical (long story). I labeled her as "wife" because she hates the guy with a passion and would slaughter him in his sleep if she could but he's the only one keeping the human and the otherworldly population from open war, so that's a no go. Basically she got blackmailed into marrying him, and staying with him. And Reever's one of my few fun characters. He sticks around Kes because he loves her (not in THAT way. I'm thinking his kind can only love once and he lost his mate or something so he doesn't get to love like that anymore) and someone's gotta keep her sane because she REALLY REALLY REALLY wants to kill her hubby. So yeah, there you go. Oh, one more random thing about this world. For whatever reason I've been toying with the idea that inanimate objects kinda sorta have a mind of their own. Not in any extensive way, I'm not talking talking toasters or anything, unless you want to be something that can communicate with these inanimate objects (then feel free to go to town). I was thinking more along the lines of, if you abuse the furniture or piss it off, it will be mean to you. Break an appliance, all the rest of your household appliances will refuse to work or work improperly. Cuss out the toaster when you're in a hurry and you'll probably get burnt toast. It's just an idea so far, lemme know what you think. |

How dark will the RP be? Steampunk is pretty Gothic afterall, other than the Victorian-esque technologies, there has to be a much darker story type. |

I'll start it as soon as someone gives me the ok. I have no guidelines for characters or creatures or whatever. GO NUTS! Whatever the hell you can come up with is fine by me. And I have no problem with people having multiple characters by the way. As long as you can handle them anyways. |

Ooh! I didn't see this thread yesterday. I'd certainly be interested. I like dark. I'd want to be on the side of the "otherworldly creatures", and I was going to say I'd be one of them, but I think it might be rather fun to play a human who's fighting against the humans. |
