Power, Ambition, Pride. House Holt Posts: 2,086 Group: General Member #1 Joined: Jan 27, 2008	It's the Paper Mario series, the highest standard to achieve in a classic adventure/RPG! I have played both the original, Paper Mario (Or Mario Story), as well as The Thousand Year Door. I enjoy both immensely. Personally, I think I would still list Mario Story as my favorite (of all time in fact), but I do love TTYD. I think I prefer the original because of the chars. I just like the ones in PM more than the ones in TTYD. I mean really, how can you top chars like Kooper and General Guy? Goombario, Lakilester, and Parakarry are pretty hawt too. I haven't played Super Paper Mario, and as I have told several of my friends, I'm not so sure I really want to. The whole deal with Mario being able to "go 3D" seems to kinda defeat the purpose of "PAPER Mario." Still, I have read the plot, and did think it rather well written, so I am not against the game either. Discuss.

Posts: 12 Group: Corporal Member #64 Joined: Sep 22, 2008	I agree with you, the first Paper Mario game was one of the best, and one of the most challenging video games I've played, even though the TTYD has more jokes and more epic moments of hilarity. I haven't played Super Paper Mario yet but I would love to play it, and I'm hoping a Paper Mario 3 will come out (Although Super Paper Mario may be the equvilent to that). My favourite party members are Bombette, Paraberry, Watt, Lakilester (Lakilester: It's Spike!), Goombaria, Yoshio and Vivian. (I probably forgot some but oh well) And I also had this moment of epic failure in Paper Mario 2, which I consider my most humilating defeat. I was battling the seventh boss for the seventh Crystal Star, and Mario was frozen with 27HP left. Magnus Von Grapple 2.0 sucked up some of the audiance and chucked about 8-10 audiance members at me so Mario had 2HP left. Mario then broke the ice, but it causes 1HP damage to him, so he was left with 1HP left. But it was still his turn. And then, while I was scrolling through the options... An audiance member threw a can at Mario, which did 1HP damage to him... thus killing him, and then it was game over afterwards. Yep, AN AUDIANCE MEMBER KILLED MARIO! I was pretty pissed off at the time so I played from the my last save an defeated the boss and destroyed the audiance members when I had the opportunity.

First of all let me point out that I just about died of laughter when I read this. That is quite possibly the most hilarious tale of woe I've ever heard from a videogame. Congrats! kinda... Vivian was pretty cool, but I don't like the hubbub that has circulated about her by the fanbase. For one, there's a whole collection of people who are apparently convinced that she is a he, because the Japanese version of the game one of the insults Beldam gave to her was calling her a man, along with some other translation issues. Personally, I think this is a load of bull. And then on top of that, there is the inevitable outcome that any fan art depicts grotesque amounts of nudity in many cases. A wonderful char IMO, but ruined by the fans. Never really cared for Bombette or Watt. No particular reason I suppose, I just don't.

Posts: 6 Group: Corporal Member #72 Joined: Dec 13, 2008	(Insert 1 month bump) I loved the Paper Mario Series... well, I'm pretty sure I'll like Super Paper Mario, but I don't have that yet. D= TTYD was my favourite, as it was the first one I played, and the humour won me over. =P I have to say, being killed by the audience is a horrid way to lose. =P I feel sorry for you.
